We have a beautiful baby boy to be thankful for! Jonathan Ashley was born on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 12:40 am. He weighed in at 8lbs. and 8 oz. and 20 inches long.
Labor and delivery was difficult. The pitocin was great at getting things going, but the epidural had a "hot spot," which is when one part of your body does not take the epidural. In this case, the entire right side didn't take! We were able to get that figured out and began pushing and made good progress. As Jonathan proceeded down the birth canal we found out he was looking in the wrong direction! Then it was time for assistance from the doctor with the vacuum. After two tries and an unhappy baby they decided to do the c-section. Unfortunately, with the way the epidural was not working and the fact they had to put Becky out, Nathan was unable to be there for the birth but he did get to spend some good father-son time while Becky recovered.
Jonathan is a good feeder so things are looking up.
Not to mention he is really cute...

Oh Becky! That story...I'm so sorry. That had to be very emotional especially after pushing for so long, you must be exhausted.
Jonathan is very cute and I'm sure well worth all the effort to get him here, but what a story.
I've always liked the name Ethan. It would have been a first name for us if we were having a boy, so if you want you can consider it for a middle name. It's hard picking though. It took us a while to pick a middle name too. Now we can't wait to meet her!
