Falls Lake Boating Adventure

On Saturday we went to Falls Lake with Drew and Amy (one of the couples who went on the cruise with us). They are so much fun and we just click with them.
When we arrived at their house, the boat wasn't working. A trip to the parts store and an hour later and Nathan and Drew had it running again.
Jonathan took a quick nap on the way to the lake and was good to go the rest of the day.
We swam in the water for a while and played.
Then Jonathan and Nathan went tubing. Jon loved it! He was talking to Nathan in the tube, saying, "Water, Daddy!" or "Look, boats!" He loved going over the wake. He is so much like Nathan-brave, fearless, willing to try anything. It is fun to see these Nathan-traits in him as he gets bigger.
Amy's brother was in town, so she needed to pick him and his family up so they could play on the boat, too. Nathan, Drew, JPA and I were dropped off at a swimming area while she went to get them. Our plan was that some of us would swim and others of us would play on the lake and we would trade as we wanted. Amy ended up being gone for a long time. Finally, after about 2 hours (now is also a good time to tell you that we only had our bathing suits on our bodies--no shoes, no towels, no water, no food, no cell phones, no sunscreen, etc....wait, Drew had flip flops!), we decided we needed to borrow someone's phone to call Amy. When we got a hold of her she told us the boat was having trouble (of course this was a seperate issue from what Nathan had fixed because he is practically a mechanic thanks to Uncle John). She had picked up her brother's family and then gone to pick us up when she noticed the bottom was filling with water. She got someone to tow her to where we had launched the boat, but that wasn't close to where we were. Amy got the boat on land and drove to pick us up. By the time we called her, she was there with in a matter of minutes.
Now, let me take this time to remind you that I said we had nothing with us for nearly 2 hours and it had been about an hour before we were dropped off since we had eaten. And you remember that we have our 18 mos. old baby with us...all I can say is that God has blessed us with an AMAZING child. He never cried, complained, nor asked for food or water the entire time! In addition to all of those things, he did NOT need a diaper change! In all seriousness, we are both grateful to the Lord for His provision over us! Jonathan was so easy going and relaxed the entire time (a little sunburned, but that was it).
After all of that adventure, we were hungry, so went to Outback with Drew and Amy. On the way there Jonny fell asleep. He let me pick him up out of his carseat and set him back in the stroller while still sleeping. Then, he gave us a little present and slept through our entire dinner! It was almost like being out on a double date! We really do love that child! We both enjoyed our day and time with Drew & Amy!
