New Truck

Nathan got a new truck! He has been searching since January and it was about to drive both of us crazy. He has been driving a 1991 Chevy and it has nearly 200,000 miles on it. That is not even the issue, nor the lack of A/C. The real issue is that it isn't perfect for hauling the trailer that he bought for his business in February. So, we knew eventually it would ruin the Chevy (fondly referred to as Ed's truck...the person he bought it from...we didn't really like to admit, even to each other, that we owned it).
In any case, the searching has finally paid off. Nathan drove to Virginia on Friday with our friend Greg. They inspected it and both felt that it was a good truck and a good deal. So Nathan bought it!
Here are the specs:
2003 Dodge Ram 2500
Crew Cab (great for hauling a baby)
8 foot bed (longer then what we were looking for, but beggers can't be choosers)
Dark grey color (not blue, Nathan's preference, but again beggers can't be choosers)

So, Nathan has really been enjoying it. He has worked on it a bit adding a hitch and detailing it. There are a few other things he would like to do like adding nerf bars (it is quite high, especially for a pregnant lady and of course it is the only vehicle that we take any place now). He is in his glory working on it!
Overall, we are thankful that we found something and that we were able to pay for it!

Timing

I started a new job this school year and it is wonderful! The schedule is not as demanding as regular classroom teaching position. Anyway, when I reflect on things have worked out, I know that I couldn't have planned the move any better with the baby on the way. Even being able to leave for appointments and my duty schedule have worked out wonderfully!

I am not always good at being aware of what there is to learn around me, but I have noticed how God has been showing me something. A few weeks ago our church announced that it was going to have a marriage conference. I really didn't think much of it because I really do have a wonderful marriage (mostly just because Nathan is amazing, not because of me!). It did make me realize that one day the children that we will have will leave and go to college, too and that will be hard. But then I think, we get our Nathan & Becky time back! One of the reasons that we waited as long as we did to have kids was because we didn't want to give up the time we had with just the two of us. Anyway, it became apparent that although we are having a baby, our marriage relationship still trumps the kids. Our relationship has been relatively easy, however we aren't foolish enough to believe that is the way it will always be, especially with children in the mix. So...we have to work on our marriage and keep it healthy, so that when our kids do go to college, we still know and like each other! So, we will be attending the marriage conference! And I will try to be more aware of what is going on around me!

Back from Another Vacation

We got back from WNY on Sunday after a week on the lake up there. We had some friends with us and enjoyed time with family. The weather started out cold and rainy, but cleared up and it ended up being nice.
We had a doctor's appointment on Monday and had the glucose test. The results came back great. The baby is now 28 weeks in utero!

San Diego Wedding

My cousin recently got married in San Diego. It was beautiful. They were married right on the beach and the reception looked out over Mission Bay. The weather was absolutely perfect and everything went off without a hitch!
We enjoyed a family reunion of sorts because I had my parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents all there. It was fun to catch up with everyone!

It's so hard to say good-bye...

We were recently on vacation in San Diego and this statue is overlooked by the USS Midway. It was beautiful there! Anyway, I was thinking of this pic because I had to say good-bye to Nathan because he is out of town...

Baby & Hot in NC

The baby has been moving like crazy and it is wonderful! I have to say how relieved I am because it moves all throughout the day and I never, ever worry about it! It is certainly an active one! We are 25 weeks along.

It has been so steamy here! It started to rain this evening and hopefully that will bring some relief. I started a new position, so I don't have to do recess duty anymore! Days like we have had today make so happy I made the switch.

Nathan is out of town working on a project with my dad and brother. He is having fun, but did fall off of a ladder the first day they started working. He cut his leg on a nail and should have gotten stitches, but didn't!

I finished a grad school class and I earned an A! I was surprised because I worked hard when I did work on it, but I didn't always spend enough time on it. I am glad it is done. I am still figuring out my fall class.

Almost 14 weeks pregnant!

We are pregnant...which is part of the reason for starting the blog. We are officially out of the first trimester, which is a relief! We had a stage 2 ultrasound yesterday and it was unbelievable! The baby really didn't look like an alien, which was promising! The baby was moving all over the place and Nate couldn't believe that I couldn't feel anything! It really is a miracle!

On another note, Nate was busy all day working on his truck. He has a 1991 Chevy pickup truck. He is sweet for working on it and saving us money! He was covered, pretty much from head to toe in grease!
