He's Two, Part 10!

We have been counting with Jonathan to get him to understand when he needs to do something. It goes something like this: "Jonathan, go put your shoes on." Ignore, ignore, ignore. "Jonathan, put your shoes on. 3 (pause), 2 (pause)..." Then he runs to put his shoes on. (BTW, this is not a commentary on this parenting strategy, so please no comments on that.)
Just a few minutes ago, Jonathan asked me to come down stairs with him. He left with out me and then I heard him yell, "Mommy, come down stairs now. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8..."

We do the exact same thing with Vera and so now she counts to Mack and Lane. Both of them just give her a blank stare (although Lane is usually smiling at her).
